UGR Green Roof Edge Trim External Corner provides a straightforward way to continue an aluminium edging system around an outward-facing 90° corner.
This robust, pre-formed aluminium component joins two straight sections of edge trim, creating a neat and reliable outside corner around the green roof perimeter.
Using a ready-formed corner avoids cutting and shaping straight lengths by hand, helping reduce installation time and create a more consistent finish.
What is an external corner?
An external corner is used where the edging turns around an outward-facing part of the roof perimeter. Typical uses include:
- Outside corners around a green roof
- Outward-facing perimeter upstands
- Projecting sections of a roof layout
- Landscaping boundaries incorporating 90° outside corners
For an inward-facing or recessed perimeter detail, use the UGR Green Roof Edge Trim Internal Corner.
Part of the UGR edging system
The external corner is designed to work with the straight aluminium edge trim and compatible connectors — the UGR Aluminium Green Roof Edge Trim – 1m and the UGR Green Roof Edge Trim Connector.
Together, these components create a modular edging system that can be adapted to the shape and dimensions of the green roof.
Installing the external corner
- Position the external corner at the required outward-facing 90° change in direction.
- Align a straight edge-trim length with each side of the corner.
- Join the corner piece to the straight trims using compatible edge-trim connectors.
- Check that each component is seated securely and correctly aligned.
- Continue installing the edging around the remaining perimeter.
- Complete the adjoining pebble and growing-substrate areas in accordance with the green roof design.
Important suitability note
This component is specifically formed for outward-facing 90° corners. It should not be used for inward-facing perimeter details or as a substitute for a straight connector.
For inside corners, use the UGR Green Roof Edge Trim Internal Corner.
